Everyone staying at the Wat is required to follow the five precepts. These express the foundations of Buddhist ethics and should be taken as orienting principles for skilful living rather than legalistic rules. The five precepts are:
1. To refrain from killing living beings
2. To refrain from taking anything which is not given.
3. To refrain from sexual misconduct .
4. To refrain from lying and harsh speech .
5. To refrain from taking intoxicants |
